ImageThere is no binding clause regarding whether or not one has to work on the national day and public holidays. The employment contract provisions will determine the issue of working on these days.  The employee's consent is required if there is no provision in the collective agreement or employment contract.

Employees shall be paid a full day's wage for the national and public holidays on which they have not worked. In case that the employees workeon those holidays this work will be consideredovertime work and the employees shall be paid an additional full day's wages for each day worked.
